DAVID & DAVETTE

2010

Sint-Denijs-Westrem, Belgium

The 12 meter massive sculptures are a beacon to the surroundings and part of project 'IMBER'. The two statues are a cover of the work David from Michelangelo. To create the statues they where first carved in marble and then enlarged and masoned according to new developed technics, like gluing brown clay stones in pixels. Afterwards, the statue was cut to perfection. It took Piet Van a year to single handedly sculpt these statues.
